(Song summary) Leaving on a jet plane

----Leaving on a jet plane----
All my bags are packed
I'm ready to go
I'm standing here outside your door
I hate to wake you up to say goodbye

But the dawn is breaking
It's early morning
The taxi's waiting
He's blowing his horn
Already I'm so lonesome I could cry

*So kiss me and smile for me
Tell me that you'll wait for me
Hold me like you'll never let me go
I'm leaving on a jet plane
I don't know when I'll be back again
Oh babe, I hate to go

There's so many times I've let you down
So many times I've played around
I tell you now, they don't mean a thing

Every place I go, I'll think of you
Every song I sing, I'll sing for you
When I come back, I'll wear your wedding ring (*)

Now the time has come to leave you
One more time, let me kiss you
Then close your eyes
I'll be on my way

Dream about the days to come
When I won't have to leave alone
About the times, I won't have to say

(Essay 3) What do millionnaires work for?

What do millionnaires work for?
People work because they need money to live. Everything costs a lot in the society nowadays. Therefore, most people work hard to earn their lives, not to mention those who have their own family. However, there are still some people rich enough so they don’t bother about earning their daily bread. What do they work for?

In my opinion, when people have earned enough money to live, they will want to earn more money to live better lives. We would like to try some dainties as long as we don’t worry about starvation. We may buy some pretty clothes while we can easily get warm. No one wants to live in stables when he has a villa. Everyone wants to live a better life, and that’s why people still work when they are well-fixed.

However, well-fixed people still keep working. They keep working not for more money but for sense of achievement and responsibility. Even if he doesn’t need so mach money, an old baker may carry on working because that he can bake the most delicious cake in the community he’s living in and that many neighbors are use to buy some snacks or bread in his shop everyday. This will bring the baker a sense of achievement and responsibility which urge him stick on his career day after day. And it is also the reason for a chairman of an enterprise. That’s another reason well-fixed people still keep working.

Although money is one of the chief reasons for working, work not only for money shall profit you more. When one can take his job for his career and working hard for it, he could feel a sense of achievement and honor as well as improve his life.

New Year Resolution

New Year Resolution

The year 2006 has fled away and the brand new year 2007 is coming. I have learned something from every failure and frustration during last year, and therefore I have made some resolutions for my 2007.

First, I will study harder this year. Although every student says so at every time a new semester and I had said so at the beginning of last year, I mean it this time. I do hope I can carry out preview and review of the lessons instead of staying up all through the night. The examination held at this summer is the first stage of getting the license to be a doctor. I shall make every effort to pass it.

Another New Year resolution of mine is to learn Tai Ji Quan. Tai Ji Quan is a kind of the internal styles of Chinese martial art which is based on the principle of the soft overcoming the hard. The idea to learn Tai Ji Quan may sound ridiculous but there are some reasons for me to make the decision. First, it’s a material art. As far as I known, the public order is a little poor in Taiwan. Although the ability to "stick, adhere, continue and follow (沾, 黏, 連, 隨)" , which is vital to the application of Tai Ji Quan combat techniques, may not enough to dodge or even catch bullets, it still works when being robbed. Secondly, it could strength my mind as well as my body. Tai Ji Quan training is designed to cultivate a relaxed, flexible and sensitive body along with calm and focused intent. What’s more, Tai Ji Quan is not only a military art or an exercise, but also a traditional art of Chinese. To practice Tai Ji Quan in the park nearby at dawn is always a popular entertainment.

It is quite easy to make daydreams while to accomplish them is relative difficult. After all, there was a saying: “no pain, no gain.” I will do my best to overcome those pain and difficulty to carry out my New Year resolutions.

(essay 2) To have a thing or to have a moment?

Everything is to decay but memory. As a result, I prefer having an unforgettable moment to having a thing.

Everything that can be bought cannot last for a long time. For example, any single meal of food can not make you full up for three days, no matter how it delicious. A ring or a bunch of roses may cost a lot but they can’t be more valuable than themselves. No one will remember an ordinary meal or gift everlasting. However, it shall be different when they are parts of the first date of the rookie lovers. It is the memory that makes everything invaluable.

A stub of a ticket or anything else will not simply be what it was when it commemorates something. For the reason, I would like to have an unforgettable moment comparing with having a thing.

(essay 1) Early birds or late owls?

Early birds or late owls?

-- Some people prefer to get up early in the morning and start the day's work. Others prefer to get up later in the day and work until late at night. Which do you prefer?

I prefer being an early bird to being a lately owl. Comparing with working or studying late at night, it makes me more efficient and creative to get up earlier.

There are many reasons for me to get up early. First, the air is clean and fresh at that time. There are fewer vehicles at dawn and the air is therefore less polluted. Second, I feel more spirited at early morning than at deep night and that makes me more efficient. I just can’t be concentrated after a busy day. Third, everyone in my family is a typical early bird. Even most of my neighbors are early birds! I found it is difficult to stay up late or just oversleep in this environment.

The essential factor makes me an early bird is not that I use to get up early but that I prefer go to bed early. According to the researches, it’s harmful to our body to stay up during pm11:00 to am2:00. What’s more, people who go to bed earlier live longer and healthier then those use to be lately owls. That’s why I prefer being an early bird to being a lately owl.

Computer

When it comes to the greatest invention in the last century, it must be computers. Nowadays, computers and our daily lives are almost inseparable. People can watch news and weather report on the internet as well as book seats and restaurants. Instead of taking heavy briefcases, many people visit their customers with their notebook and PDA which contains whole the database and every kinds of relative books. Furthermore, scientists use the most advanced computers to stimulate and compute all kinds of situations. The magical computer has solved so many problems.

There are still some benefits computers have brought to us. For example, it has been much more convenient since the computer was invented. Today, we could communicate with our families and friends by email as well as by MSN. These two ways are much more economical and saving much more time. We can even use video telephone to talk to each other “face-to-face”. Another benefit is that computers have also brought entertainment as well as its convenience. We can watch movies, listen to pop music, go shopping, or enjoy a concert or drama on our own computer, not to mention the excited video games. The computer fulfills our lives in many aspects.

However, these advantages may just enough to be its drawback. The computer is too convenient that many people is so concentrated on the virtual world and forget the true world is important as well. People who just sit in front of the computer all day long can’t really communicate with the people around him. And for the sake of lacking for exercise, those people will also become obese and unhealthy easily. The computer nerd will be a total social misfit and a typical computer potato.
The myth that whether the computer benefits people or makes the world worse is still controversial. In my opinion, however, it benefits or not is totally up to the way we use the powerful invention. If we apply computers and relative technique to good way, surely it would benefit us.

Self introdution, maybe

My name is Wade.

As long as I was asked to make a self introduction, I often answered like this (and than can’t say anything else as if my tongue was stolen by a cat!). However, is the name really important? Does a person’s name help us to recognize him? Does the sentence mean anything to the following paragraphs?

The answers are negative.

But even if the sentence “My name is Wade” has nothing to do with the following paragraphs, and it won’t help in recognize me, and the name is useless in many situations (except signing in on the class), at least it helps me to began this article in a weird way when I was asked to make a self introduction and went blank. A useful name is a good name.

It is easy to understand why I went blank. It’s been years since last time I wrote in English. To be frank, I use poorer and poorer English year by year since I graduated from Taichung First senior high school and became a medical student in CSMU.

Fortunately, my poor English didn’t make me suffered a lot during my university life (except this homework, of course.) At the first two year of my university life, I have joint several camps and clubs in the university, include medical camps and the Ballroom Dance Club. These two years I have joint into softball club. I’m still making efforts to be a good catcher thought I still have a whole lot more to do.

Cartoons and comic books are the other important parts in my leisure time, even thought it won’t be as healthy as playing softball. There are about more than 200 comic books in my bookshelf, and the amount of those I’ve read without buying is 3 to 4 times to the amount I have bought. I’m just nobody comparing with the really experts, but I can recite most of the important scene or dialogue and point out where it lays in which books.

I regard English a kind of tools in making friends and improve my knowledge. If I could use English fluently, it is more possible that I’ll make friends coming from every country and therefore improve my knowledge in many aspects. What if I have talent for learning foreign language!

At last, welcome to my first Blog.
