New Year Resolution

New Year Resolution

The year 2006 has fled away and the brand new year 2007 is coming. I have learned something from every failure and frustration during last year, and therefore I have made some resolutions for my 2007.

First, I will study harder this year. Although every student says so at every time a new semester and I had said so at the beginning of last year, I mean it this time. I do hope I can carry out preview and review of the lessons instead of staying up all through the night. The examination held at this summer is the first stage of getting the license to be a doctor. I shall make every effort to pass it.

Another New Year resolution of mine is to learn Tai Ji Quan. Tai Ji Quan is a kind of the internal styles of Chinese martial art which is based on the principle of the soft overcoming the hard. The idea to learn Tai Ji Quan may sound ridiculous but there are some reasons for me to make the decision. First, it’s a material art. As far as I known, the public order is a little poor in Taiwan. Although the ability to "stick, adhere, continue and follow (沾, 黏, 連, 隨)" , which is vital to the application of Tai Ji Quan combat techniques, may not enough to dodge or even catch bullets, it still works when being robbed. Secondly, it could strength my mind as well as my body. Tai Ji Quan training is designed to cultivate a relaxed, flexible and sensitive body along with calm and focused intent. What’s more, Tai Ji Quan is not only a military art or an exercise, but also a traditional art of Chinese. To practice Tai Ji Quan in the park nearby at dawn is always a popular entertainment.

It is quite easy to make daydreams while to accomplish them is relative difficult. After all, there was a saying: “no pain, no gain.” I will do my best to overcome those pain and difficulty to carry out my New Year resolutions.
